  9. 1.  The official language of this echo is ENGLISH.  Other languages are
  10. off-topic.  If you have file areas with descriptions in another
  11. language, please make every attempt to translate them.  It isn't too
  12. useful to have a description everyone can't understand.
  13. 2.  This area is for ALLFIX-Style FileFind requests/replies ONLY.
  14. (a) You should not send your replies via routed netmail, as it will most
  15. likely be considered excessivley annoying.
  16. (b) There is to be *NO* announcing into this area.  This area is not to
  17. tell everyone what new files you have received, but to tell people
  18. who are looking for something if you have it or not.  Anyone
  19. announcing in this area will immediatley be removed from the area.
  20. (c) Software using a different format than ALLFIX FileFind to search
  21. for files is not to be run.  This area is large enough as it is
  22. without having to have requests that are only answered by some
  23. software.  A different name for a FileFind utility for a different
  24. computer (other than IBM-PC) is allowed
  25. (d) A maximum of five requests per person, per day please.  If you have
  26. more requests, please send a few each day.  FixDor will support
  27. this limit (when it is ready!)
  28. (e) Chatter is to be kept to a minimum for questions only.

  30. 3.  Leave the moderating to the moderator.  Even if you don't seem to see any
  31. response from the moderator in the echo, it could be handled by netmail.
  32. 4.  The moderator decides what is off topic and what is on topic, if you do
  33. not agree, you may discuss it in netmail.

  35. Small help text excerpt from FixDor help files:

  37. ALLFIX can help you find files via EchoMail. Enter a request for file
  38. specifications or keywords, and you will receive a reply within a few
  39. days from every BBS, connected to the FILEFIND echo, where matches to
  40. your request were found. If a reply says "Reply for up to 50 more
  41. files", then you can reply, and you will receive another list of
  42. files, a maximum of 50, from only that paticular BBS.

  44. To enter a request, enter a normal message to "ALLFIX" with the
  45. subject of the file specification you want to find.  Each file
  46. specification is treated as a seperate search, they are not treated
  47. as a combination.

  49. You may use wildcards in your file specifications, however, you many
  50. not use more than 4 '?', and you must have at least 4 valid, non
  51. wildcard characters in your specification.  Extentions are ignored.

  53. Keywords can be designated with a '/' or enclosed within double
  54. quotes.  You can search for keywords that consist of more than one
  55. word by enclosing them within double quotes.

  57. Example: AFIX* /GEcho "echo mail processor"

  59. This would find any file starting with AFIX, any file with GEcho in
  60. the description, and any file with "echo mail processor" in the
  61. description.

  63. As of ALLFIX v4.31 gamma-2, ALLFIX supports an extention to allow
  64. limiting your search area.  You can use the words AND as well as OR
  65. in your search queries.  If no joining word is specified, OR is
  66. assumed.

  71. and "echo mail processor" in the description.
